While not all of the information linked here is strictly "genealogy", most of it does relate to the issue in general, and I hope is at least interesting, if not actually useful.

First, we found at hamrick.com an application which would create maps of the disributions of last names in the USA over time, using census and phone book data. We have extracted from this website the four maps concerning the name Finkel, and have placed them here.

We've also compiled a short family tree of just the direct relatives of those of us who're running the site -- once we figure out a decent way to display them in a web page, they'll be available here.

And furthermore, Finkel distribution information based on the SSDI should be available here in the forseeable future.
